The Scottish biscuit manufacturer, which produces, on average, 300,000 packets of biscuits weekly, is building a new 1,620 square metre (sq m) warehouse at its 4,750sq m site in Lanark.
The extension will boost floor space by more than a third and will allow the privately-owned company to increase its storage and improve facilities.
Commenting on the deal, Clydesdale Bank said the company had “secured substantial facilities” from the Bank, delivered by Iain Duff, business development manager at Clydesdale Bank’s Lanarkshire business and private banking centre in East Kilbride.

“After experiencing strong growth over the last few years, adding space to our Lanarkshire facility is crucial. The extra space also gives us the option to expand in the future, without having to worry about where we put any new kit.”

Founded in 1984, Border Biscuits employs 150 staff and produces more than 30 varieties, supplying Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.
