Sil-Pin by Culinare (Farnborough, Hants) has launched a colourful collection of silicone rolling pins and pastry rollers with zinc alloy-coated handles for the traditional baker; a "Soft Grip" design for the baker-in-training; and, for the professional baker, the Baker's design, which has no handles.
The Pastry Roller is a hand-held roller, especially suited to smaller, trickier jobs, such as smoothing dough mixture into corners of a pan or for more delicate pastry mixtures.
