The countdown to the second Bakers’ and Butchers Fair of the year has begun, held on 27 October at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate.

The event, sponsored by Norbake, will feature a wide range of exhibitors, as well as stage presentations and demonstrations.

This year we have added a new competition to try and find Britain’s Best Loaf. It is open to all bakers, and there are four categories to choose from: Sourdough, Wholegrain, White and Innovation.

The National Pie Competition, held in association with British Baker and sister title Meat Trades Journal, and sponsored by Brook Food Processing, will also be open to both bakers and butchers. There are four categories available: Pork Pie, Savoury Pie, Steak & Kidney and Pasties.

The deadline for entries into both competitions is Friday 18 October, and you can either enter by submitting the entry form contained within British Baker, or you can enter online at www.bakersandbutchersfair.co.uk.

We are also delighted to announce that Michelle Collins, former Eastenders actress and currently on Coronation Street, will be our celebrity guest on the day, and will be announcing our competition winners live on stage.

Exhibitors at the show include Benier, CJ’s, Dawn Foods, Ireks, Rank Hovis and Zeelandia.
