Buying group Musgrave has launched a new range of own-brand sandwiches for Budgens and Londis retailers, with RSPs lowered.

The 13 lines, under the Good to Go brand, consist of the flavours that made up 88% of all sales in its previous range.

Many key ingredients are British, including all cheese, chicken and ham. Provenance is highlighted on the packaging through Made in Britain stamps.

The new sandwich range, which has just launched, has also been priced lower than the previous range.

Donal Horgan, managing director for Budgens and Londis, said: “The Good to Go brand ties in with shoppers’ lunchtime mentality and will help drive sales and profitability for Budgens and Londis retailers in this category which is seeing growth in the market of around 2%.”

Musgrave has partnered with Melton Foods, which also supplies Waitrose for the range. The 13 lines in the range are egg & cress, cheese & onion, cheese & tomato, tuna & sweetcorn, ham & cheese, cheese ploughmans, prawn mayo, chicken salad, egg & bacon, bacon lettuce & tomato, all day breakfast, chicken fajita wrap and chicken caesar wrap.
