St Austell Brewery has launched a range of bakery products across its managed pubs as it expands its Brewer & Bean brand to include stand-alone coffee shops.

The Cornish brewer started serving Fairtrade coffee under the brand in its pubs last year, but has now added a full range of locally sourced bakery goods to its 24 managed pubs.

At the same time it has extended the Brewer & Bean concept with a separate coffee shop at its pub in the Great Western Hotel in Newquay.

The new shop is the first of several that will be added to St Austell’s pubs, with a second opening in Padstow in July. There are also plans to open stand-alone, town-centre Brewer & Bean outlets, not linked to pubs.

The new bakery range includes cakes, cookies, pastries and sandwiches from suppliers including the Cornish Patisserie, the Handmade Cake Company and Padstow-based Chough’s Bakery (bread).
