Millie’s investigates c-store unit options

Millie’s Cookies, the SSP-owned brand, has revealed plans to offer standalone units in convenience stores.

The move, which has been reported by The Grocer, a sister title of British Baker, apes that of Krispy Kreme, the doughnut manufacturer, and bakers in Scotland, which have all targeted the convenience sector to great success.

According to The Grocer, SSP, which also runs Upper Crust, Delice De France and Caffe Ritazza at transport hubs, wants to “maximise” the potential of the Millie’s Cookies brand.

It is understood the units would offer cookies that have been baked in-store – and they would be available individually or in packs of 12.

The company told The Grocer it was “early days” but it was exploring a “number of options”.
