Bakery wholesaler Bako North Western hosted a family fun day last weekend, in celebration of its 50th year in the industry.

The company said the event represented the close relationship it had with customers, and it hoped to give back to the customer community by providing discounts and activities throughout the day.

The event hosted a variety of stalls from partner bakeries and suppliers, as well as face-painting, bouncy castles, hook-a-duck and live product demonstrations.

Customers were encouraged to come with their families.

Andrew Hodgson, head of trading at Bako NW, said: “Our business is about the customer. Yes, we want to make profit for our shareholders and to reinvest in the business to make it bigger better and stronger in another 50 years’ time.”

Nicola Emmerson, PR & marketing executive at the company, said: “We are extremely pleased with how our family fun day celebrations went; customers, suppliers and staff alike enjoyed the opportunity to meet face to face and learn about Bako North Western and its products, while having a thoroughly good time”.

Keep your eyes peeled for a British Baker exclusive interview and video footage this week, collating the highlights of the event and giving an insight into Bako North Western.
