Bath Bakery has expanded into new public developments, as part of its rapid growth programme.

It has opened two sites in the Keynsham Civic Centre, which will see the bakery run a public coffee shop, and a restaurant for employees of the new site.

This is the latest in the Bath Bakery’s expansion programme, which has seen its outlets rise from five to 14 in the past three years.

Managing director Mark Slevin, who has been driving the expansion, said: “There were some very big names vying for the right to run these concessions, so it was a great moment when we learned we had won the contracts.

“The new Civic Centre is a truly inspirational place, which will be a vital focal point for the entire community and I am extremely proud for Bath Bakery to be part of this important development.”

The Bath Bakery also claimed to be one of the area’s largest independent employers with a headcount rising to more than 100.

The business has also recently launched a new range of gluten-free food, called Batch#5, backed by a purpose-built production facility in Farrington Gurney.

“The combination of fantastic produce, a knowledgeable and service-focused team and, of course, our fabulous customers who appreciate great-tasting food makes a formidable mix and is the bedrock of our continued success,” continued Slevin.

“We’re well on course for our best sales year ever and everything is in place to push on into 2015, which is a very special year as it marks Bath Bakery’s 30th anniversary.”
