Artisan bakery-cum-café and cruffin-maker Foxcroft & Ginger (F&G) has opened its pop-up at Old Street Station. 

Opened on Easter Monday, the site will remain for three months and is just a short walk from London’s Shoreditch.

Bakery goods on offer will include cruffins – the croissant/muffin hybrid, which F&G claims to be the first maker of in the UK. The cruffins are made with the bakery’s “secret” sourdough croissant mix, which is hand-folded using French butter.

Instead of using a traditional croissant mould, the pastries are baked into a muffin shape, allowing space for fillings inside. These range from chocolate ganache to nuts and caramel; and custard and jam.

The cruffins (£2.70) are dusted with cinnamon sugar and are crunchy on the outside like a croissant, and gooey on the inside like a muffin.

Other items on offer at the pop-up will include handmade goods such as sourdough sandwiches and fresh salads.

F&G also has sites at Whitechapel and Soho.
