High street sandwich chain EAT will open two more London sites in May as it presses on with expansion plans to double the business over the next three years.

It has opened three stores in the past four weeks, all in London: in Holborn, central; Broadwick Street, Soho; and Lime Street in the City.

Two more sites are secured and due to open in May – one is in the City and one is in the West End. All new sites have “ample seating” for 100 covers or more. Sarah Doyle, brand director, told British Baker: “We know people are eating in and drinking in more and are using the space to meet friends and colleagues.”

Five more sites are planned for opening throughout May and June. They will all be in London, but exact locations have not yet been disclosed.

Doyle added: “We plan to open around 30 stores a year for each year going forward, roughly doubling the size of the brand and store estate over three years.” EAT currently operates 114 shops. “These openings will extend our presence in London, but also across the UK.”
