Greencore invests millions in Worksop site

Convenience giant Greencore has made a multi-million pound investment at its Worksop sandwich distribution hub.

The site at Manton Wood Business Park is set to become a “major food distribution hub” following the investment. It has created 70 jobs so far and has the potential for adding 80 more in the future.

Steve Evans, managing director of food to go convenience at Greencore, said: “We are pleased to be expanding our presence in the Worksop area. Manton 110 with its strategic position next to a main Greencore manufacturing facility, and excellent transport links will be a key facility in our continued expansion.”

It has 22 manufacturing sites and produces sandwiches, Italian chilled meals, branded chilled meals, chilled non-dairy desserts, chilled sauces, cooking sauces and pickles and Christmas cakes.

Bassetlaw District Council approved the latest expansion.
