The former head office and bakery of Cooplands of Doncaster has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

The site has been acquired by Wiseton Developments, headed up by a local business man. The restructuring and recovery team at Bilfinger GVA’s Leeds office was appointed on behalf of administrator Deloitte to market the premises in March.

Alex Sweetman, associate in Bilfinger GVA’s Restructuring and Recovery team, said the quick sale of the 5.5 acre site followed substantial levels of interest.

Sweetman said: “This successful sale once again demonstrates the demand for income producing commercial properties in sustainable locations.

“We are delighted to have secured the sale of Wheatley Mills on behalf of the administrator and wish the new owner every success in taking the property forward as an edge-of-town business park.”

Cooplands was placed into administration in February this year. Of the estate, 41 stores and the mobile sandwich van fleet were sold to ReSolve, the London-based corporate restructure specialists, and 39 were closed.
