A new £200,000 bakery-hybrid concept called Bake n’Grape is set to open in Chelmsford, Essex, at the end of this month. (July)

CaekMafia will open the concept, which boasts both a bakery and restaurant on-site in a 4,500sq ft premises. Customers will also be allowed to pre-order, via mobile devices, before they reach the store. Bake n’Grape will bake breads and cakes and will also pair breads with champagnes. It will also offer cocktails, wines and coffee, as well as a grilled food menu.

Chris Windram, managing director, said: “We are only a month away from opening and are nearly there. There will be more sites, with another next year and another a year after that, but these are work in progress.”

The group has ambitions to have 12 sites open by 2018. It is also currently recruiting for a number of job roles at the new Chelmsford site including assistant manager, chefs, baristas, bartenders and waitresses.
