Droppa & Droppa Specialist Foods, the gluten-, wheat- and dairy-free manufacturer and allergen training company, is to close the manufacturing arm of its business.

It said the move meant it could concentrate on the needs of its customers in its allergen training arm.

New legislation has meant that many changes have had to be made to the way foods are served and supplied for people with food intolerances and allergies. This has led Droppa & Droppa to develop its allergen training product, which aims to help the industry in meeting the demands of the allergen market.

Ferenc Droppa, director, said: “We have extensive knowledge of catering for allergens, especially gluten, having not only worked in the industry for over 10 years, but also due to Jocelyn Droppa having coeliac disease.

“We feel now is the right time to focus on that side of our business and utilise our skills to help businesses get to grips with best practice procedures, due diligence, compliance and good old-fashioned common sense.

“We will continue to develop recipes suitable for gluten-free diets, which can be cooked in any kitchen using ‘easy-to-come-by’ ingredients, as part of our KISS (Keep It Simple & Safe) Campaign.”
