An outlet that sells only crisp sandwiches has launched in West Yorkshire.

Mr Crisp, launched by Mark Pearson, stocks more than 50 varieties of crisps to be served in white or brown bread, teacakes or baguettes for £1. Toppings can be bought for another 50p and include options such as ketchup, peanut butter, jam and marshmallow.

Pearson told The Daily Mail that feedback to the opening of the shop in Keighley, West Yorkshire, has been “really positive”.

“I have always had an idea to launch a crisp sandwich shop,” said Pearson.

“I sat on the idea for six months, working on sourcing which crisps and flavours to have and doing some market research.

“Now I feel the time is now or never. I could either sit on the fence and get left behind or go and take a chance.”

So high are his hopes that Pearson is already thinking about opening another two shops before the end of the year.

The concept follows that of Simply Crispy in Belfast, which operated a four-week pop-up in January with much success.

Single-concept eateries are currently enjoying a boom with a spate of them opening recently from the Cereal Killer Café in Shoreditch, which sells only cereals, to Foxcroft & Ginger which partnered with Beyond Retro to launch UK’s first specialist poached egg bar in its Dalston store in June.
