US doughnut brand Krispy Kreme staged a spooktacular event at London’s Waterloo station on 19 October by handing out 1,000 free doughnuts.

The limited edition Halloween Pumpkin doughnuts, decorated to look like jack-o’-lanterns, were distributed from a specially set up ‘Pumpkin Patch’ at the station, complete with scarecrows. Upon entering, however, the scarecrows came to life.

James Carpenter, senior account executive at PR company DeVries Slam, which organised the event, said: “The scarecrows were there to make you jump a bit.”

The Halloween Pumpkin doughnuts are part of Krispy Kreme’s limited-edition Halloween range which also includes the chocolate-dipped Halloween Sprinkles ring doughnut and Pumpkin Spice Latte.
