Levenshulme-based bakery Trove will open a second site at Altrincham.

The new site will open on 11 March and is set to be a miniature version of the existing Levenshulme business, according to owners Marcus and Katy Saide.

The husband and wife team, who make all their food “from scratch”, have a stall on the market five days a week and supply a number of residents including Little Window, Tender Cow and Market House Coffee.

Katy said: “We’ve been trying to get in it [the area] for ages. The whole place is just brilliant and we’ve got a lot of support here. It just made sense really.

“It will be a smaller version of what we do in Levenshulme, except we cannot bake on the premises for the time being.

“We’re going to focus more on the pastry side of things and the menu will be a bit smaller by comparison, with probably about five or six items on it and some drinks and coffees.”

Plans to extend the original premises are also in the pipeline, thanks to a Kickstarter project online. Supporters have pledged more than £14,000, which although short of the £35,000 target, means the project will go ahead.

The couple also plan to open in the evenings, serving wine and beer, as well as food.
