Almondy celebrates 15 years of Daim Cake

Almondy, the Swedish gluten-free bakery, is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its best-selling cake, Daim Cake.

Almondy said 720,000 slices of Daim Cake are sold annually, making it the company’s biggest selling cake out-of-home.

Andrew Ely, managing director of Almondy, said: “We’re calling on operators who haven’t tried our Daim Cake before to give it some time on their menus and reap the benefits.”

To celebrate the 15-year milestone, Almondy is encouraging the nation to treat themselves to a slice of Almondy Daim Cake, and will be rewarding those who do so with the chance of winning prizes through the company’s Twitter account, using the hashtag #DaimTime. Almondy also wants retailers to sign up for their free point-of-sale kit.

Almondy Daim Cake comes frozen and pre-proportioned into 12 slices. The foodservice range also includes Almondy Cake with Toblerone, a Caramel & Peanut variety, as well as the recently launched Chocolate Cake with Roasted Almonds, which is both gluten- and lactose-free.

Last month research released by Almondy revealed that millennials were driving gluten-free demand.
