Cornwall-based family-owned bakery, Philps will be opening up a new shop right in the centre of Camborne.

Philps is one of the most famous Cornish pasty bakeries in the county and already has four shops - two in Hayle, one in Marazion, and one in Praze-an-Beeble.

Commenting on her excitement at the move, Owner Nina Philp told West Briton: “Camborne is a great town for us to be in and I’m sure it will benefit from a great pasty shop opening up.

“We weren’t actively looking to open in the town, but the right property became available so we decided to go for it.”

Philps will be moving into 28 Trelowarren Street, which was formerly home to continental deli Dax Delicatessen.

The shop is aiming to open within the next month and will create a small number of new roles within the business.
