Food-to-go company Street Eats has moved into a state-of-the-art food processing centre as it pushes to become one of the leading food-to-go producers in the UK.

The company, which specialises in hot and cold hand-held food-to-go products said the expansion was part of a long-term plan that will see it triple its manufacturing capacity and improve distribution links within the South of England, enabling it to continue its rapid growth.

Paul Kingsley-Bates, chief executive at Street Eats, said: “This is a huge move for us as a business and it will enable us to really grow our operation. We’ve only been operational for a number of weeks, but already we are seeing great benefits of having a factory in a central location and it’s a really exciting time for Street Eats as we continue to grow and develop.”

The new £4m, 40,000sqm processing site at West Drayton, near Heathrow, was constructed from the shell of a building by Clegg Food Projects.

Work included the installation of a hygienic manufacturing and storage workspace, including new chilled and frozen areas, over a period of four months.

John Moxon, business development director at Clegg Food Projects, said; “The project required a complete conversion into a multi-purpose processing site for sandwiches and snacks and needed to be completed quickly in time for Street Eats’ new range that was due to launch at the end of August.”

The new Street Eats range includes protein rolls, flatbreads, quesadillas, Asian noodle broths, quinoa salads, and hot breakfast pots, with minimal branding.

Street Eats, owned by PK Concepts, also has a site in Chester. Its sister company is Pasta King.
