BB’s raises over £12k for Marie Keating Foundation

Coffee shop chain BB’s (short for bakers and baristas) has raised more than £12,000 for the Marie Keating Foundation through its first ever Mrs Pink muffin campaign.

The business donated 25p from the sale of each pink muffin sold during October 2016 to the charity’s breast cancer services.

Singer Ronan Keating and his family set up the charity following the death of his mother.

Linda Keating, director of fundraising for the Marie Keating charity, said she was grateful to all the customers and staff at BB’s who took part in the Mrs Pink campaign.

“We are winning the fight against breast cancer, but it is far from over, so every penny makes a difference in helping us reach more women with our life-saving messages and support services,” she said. “Thank you to everyone who bought a Mrs Pink muffin.”

BB’s staff and customers came together to make donations at the till and to wear pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Andrew Moyes, CEO of BB’s, said the team was delighted to get behind the Mrs Pink muffin campaign and raise the funds for the Marie Keating Foundation.

“So many of our team members, customers and suppliers have been affected by breast cancer. I am so glad to say that my wife was able to come through the disease a few years ago,” he said.

“Thanks to everyone who played their part. We are already looking forward to Mrs Pink’s next visit in October 2017.”

BB’s stores will continue to support the Marie Keating Foundation all year round by hosting coin-collection boxes at till points.
