Cornwall Hospice Care has unveiled that it is organising its Great Cornish Cake Bake weekend from 6-7 May 2017.

The event coincides with International No Diet Day on 6 May, so that everyone can take part without feeling guilty of indulging.

Judy Lawton, community fundraiser at Cornwall Hospice Care, said cake was at the heart of its fundraising events.

“With coffee mornings and cream teas a staple of the annual events list, we thought why not develop the theme and go for an all-out celebration,” Lawton said. “The concept is simple: host an event at which you sell cake.”

The money raised will help fund the chefs who produce meals three times a day in a bid to tempt seriously ill patients to eat at the charity’s Mount Edgcumbe and St Julia’s hospices.

Cornwall Hospice Care has run the annual celebration for the last three years and has raised a total of £16,000.
