Tim Smith inherits FSA chair

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has appointed a new chief executive. Tim Smith is the former head of UK dairy company, Arla Foods UK. He will take up his new post next March.
Dame Deirdre Hutton, chair of the FSA, said: "Tim has close links to both the retail and agricultural sectors."
He replaces John Harwood, the FSA's chief executive since March 2006.
