London’s finest battle it out for pastry award
Pastry chefs from three top London hotels will be battling it out as finalists in the Craft Guild of Chefs’ Pastry Chef Award.
Ian Burch, head pastry chef at the Bentley Hotel, Graham Hornigold, chef pattisier of the Lanesborough Hotel, and Nick Patterson, pastry chef at Claridges Hotel, are all nominated. Bill Farnsworth, director of catering and bakery studies at Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies has also made the shortlist for the Education Chef award.
He will be fighting it out with Geoff Acott, training manager at Defence Food Services School in Aldershot and Gordon Leitch, chef lecturer at Motherwell College. The award is voted for by industry peers to acknowledge and reward colleagues for their outstanding contribution to the sector.
The annual award ceremony is on Friday, 30 June, at the Hilton London Metropole where finalists will be joined by those from ten other categories including Banqueting Chef, Competition Chef and Contract Catering Chef.
Steve Munkley, Craft Guild of Chefs Chairman, said: “The Craft Guild of Chefs’ annual awards is the perfect platform to recognise and reward those chefs whose hard work, dedication and enthusiasm are driving our industry and setting high standards for others to follow.”
