Just Desserts, the Yorkshire-based company, has signed a deal with wholesaler FDP Fine Foods to supply foodservice customers in the north west.
It is the company’s first wholesale distribution deal and forms part of its plan to expand its operations outside Yorkshire.
FDP will target customers including local authorities, universities, cafés, delicatessens and garden centres with the Shipley-based company’s cakes, pastries and puddings. James O’Dwyer, managing director of Just Desserts, said: "We run our own fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles, which is growing, but currently services only the Yorkshire region, so this partnership will support our expansion plans."
Just Desserts was established by O’Dwyer and his wife, Carol, in 1985. The company now has 17 staff after expanding in 2007, investing £50,000 to double the size of its base.
