Estate expansion for Peyton and Byrne

30 October, 2012

London-based bakery business Peyton and Byrne plans to open up to 10 new sites in the next year.

The firm, headed up Oliver Peyton who judges BBC Two's Great British Menu, has confirmed it is looking to take the bakery and café concept into more high street locations, rather than concessions, and look to open between six and 10 in the next 12 months.

Currently, Peyton and Byrne operates seven sites across the captial, including The British Library, St Pancras International railway station and a number of outlets in Kew Gardens in London’s Richmond district.

The decision to expand the estate could help position Peyton and Byrne in British Baker’s BB75 list of the top bakery firms in the UK dependent on the number of outlets it operates, which was topped by high street bakery firm Greggs this year with a total store count of 1,571.
