EPOS Group and RedBlack's CyBake join forces

Two technology firms have entered a new partnership to help integrate their point-of-sale systems and software for the bakery sector.

York-based RedBlack Software has said its CyBake Touch bakery shop control system will be integrated with the EPOS Group’s Quantum till management system, a move that will see both firms’ software development teams working closely together.

Both Cybake and Quantum have already been rolled out across a number of UK bakeries, including Percy Ingle in London and Essex, Oliver Adams in the East Midlands and Thomas the Baker in north Yorkshire and Teesside.

Jane Tyler, managing director of RedBlack Software, said: “We believe our technology partnership is unique in the baking industry. Our dual approach means that bakers cut the waste in their shops dramatically and gives independent operators the reporting and analysis they need to compete with the corporates.

“We have further joint projects in the pipeline, so closer technical integration between our respective offerings makes good sense for our customers.”

Both companies have said that the technological partnership will enable its customers to boost profits through the delivery of end-to-end stock traceability.

The Quantum EPOS software helps control cashflow while the CyBake Touch manages their production, which RedBlack and the EPOS Group have said can help bakers “achieve much more accurate sales-based ordering rather than relying on rough estimates from shop managers”.

Stephen Boyes, managing director of the Ramsgate-based EPOS Group, said: “The ability to allow customers to pay by card combined with vastly improved reconciliation means we have already installed the most EPOS-to-management till interfaces in bakery shops in the UK. No other systems can deliver the same data in the same time-frame and we are determined to keep on improving on these proven results for our bakery clients.”

RedBlack’s CyBake and the EPOS Group were both sponsors of this year’s BB75 Lunch, which took place last month.
