David Freeman, former MD and owner of Dunns Bakery, Crouch End, London, died on 5 September after a long illness, aged 83.
Born in 1923, David?'s training in the bakery trade was interrupted by war service in the RAF.After the war he completed his training at the National Bakery School, now part of London South Bank University.He joined Dunns in 1946 and ran the business for many years, retiring in 1985. ?He helped to train many people in the baking industry.? He married June in 1951 (she died in 2002) and their oldest son Christopher now runs Dunns.The funeral is today (14 September).
