McVitie's makes a bid for growth

United Biscuits (UBUK) has launched several new products for the New Year in a bid to drive growth across the biscuit and cake categories. New McVitie's Hobnobs Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies and Hobnobs Milk Choc Chip & Hazelnut Cookies are to hit the shelves from this month. UBUK will also be introducing the second phase of its McVitie's VIP Club loyalty campaign, from March, which offers consumers the opportunity to win trips away.

The firm is also expanding its go ahead! Yoghurt Breaks range, with the addition of a new cherry-flavoured variant this month. Meanwhile, the saturated fat in go ahead!'s Crispy Fruit Slices has been reduced and, from February, will contain 49 calories each. January has also seen McVitie's Cake Company launch go ahead! Fruity Cake Slices, available in Apple & Sultana and Honey, Caramel & Sultana varieties.
