McVitie's makes a bid for growth

United Biscuits (UBUK) has launched several new products for the New Year in a bid to drive growth across the biscuit and cake categories. New McVitie's Hobnobs Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies and Hobnobs Milk Choc Chip & Hazelnut Cookies are to hit the shelves from this month. UBUK will also be introducing the second phase of its McVitie's VIP Club loyalty campaign, from March, which offers consumers the opportunity to win trips away.

A Smart way to check time

Employers can keep track of how hard their staff are working with the AccuTime Smart Card Time Recording System, which records what days an employee has worked, when they started and finished each day, if overtime was worked and their total salary. Accurate time sheets can be produced in seconds.

Maidaid evolves washers

Maidaid has made a number of changes to its dishwasher range. Firstly its new Evolution 2025ws pass-through dishwasher features the Salt 'n' Go water softening system. The machine will operate continually, with no break while the softener is regenerating. The wash tank is 20 litres instead of the industry-standard 39 litres, meaning it is more ecological in terms of water usage.

Lincat builds on boilers' performance

Commercial catering equipment manufacturer Lincat, has improved the performance of its FilterFlow automatic water boilers, by extending the life of its in-built filter cartridges by 33%.

DSM finds softness solution

DSM Food Specialities has launched Panamore Soft a new enzymatic solution designed to improve the shelf-life of bread. It contains a patent-protected blend of enzymes, and claims to help keep breads stay fresher for longer.

Salty Dog takes Indian style

Crisp manufacturer Salty Dog has added another flavour to its snack range chicken tikka masala. The new variant is only the second meat-themed flavour to join the range, following the success of Salty Dog's ham & wholegrain mustard pack. Co-founders David and Judy Willis undertook research in a number of curry houses in Devon, in order to develop a crisp that offered the right level of heat and creaminess. Due to its growing presence in sandwich bars, coffee shops and delis, the range will now be available in a 40g bag format, in addition to its 50g and 35g bag versions.
