Unifine moves to Odense

Unifine has launched a new all-almond mix called Odense Almond Mac. The firm said that where most almond pastes are made from a blend of almond and apricot kernels, this one is made from nothing but almonds.

Renshaw takes brands professional

Following the introduction of the first Renshaw-branded products on to the consumer market, the firm has launched a number of the products in trade formats, available through major bakery wholesalers including Bako and BFP Wholesale.

Metcalfe offers flexibility

Metcalfe Catering is offering three processors under the MC range, which it claims can chop, purée, mix, liquidise, knead, grind and blend. The MC line includes a compact MC3 three-litre model, the more substantial MC5 five-litre model and the heavy-duty MC8 eight-litre model.

Rancilio tops up on Classe success

Italian espresso machine manufacturer Rancilio has announced a successor to its best-selling Classe 6 machine the Classe 7. Distributed in the UK by The Coffee Machine Company, the machine is available in automatic or semi-automatic models, and has a range of new features. It has 'soft touch' buttons, and two steam wands operated by Rancilio's innovative 'C' levers, which require only a quarter turn, so are easier to use, said the firm. It is available with two or three group heads and there is also a Compact 2-group unit if counter space is an issue.

Wrapped cupcakes for FMCG

Quorn Country Foods has launched a range of cupcakes onto the FMCG market this month, under the brand name Charlotte's Cupcakes. Designed to transfer the popularity of the boutique cupcake market into the FMCG arena, the cupcakes are hand-decorated; a 'four-stage topping', features a swirl of frosting, topped with vermicelli, hologram glitter and a sweet treat.

Bakery chain Greggs said it was encouraged by results so far from a trial with retailer Iceland as it posted its interim results this week. The firm is five weeks into a 10-shop trial in Liverpool, where Iceland is selling its bake-at-home frozen sausage rolls in Greggs-branded four-packs.
