Doughnut Time has unveiled a trio of treats the size of a person’s head ahead of National Doughnut Day on Friday 1 June.

The limited-edition Mega Doughnuts, 18cm in diameter, are designed to be shared among four people. The range includes a cartoon-inspired D’oh Nut, priced £15, which features a classic pink cream glaze topped with multi-coloured sprinkles; and the Donatella Versace, £22, a Nutella-filled doughnut topped with Kit Kat, Oreos, M&M and a golden Freddo.

A vegan doughnut, called the Chris Hemsworthy and priced at £17, rounds off the trio. It’s described as the “latest addition to the vegan junk food scene” and comprises a red velvet doughnut with cookies and cream frosting, sprinkled with vegan cookie pieces and chocolate drizzle.

“To launch London’s first Mega Doughnut has been a dough dream come true. We can’t wait for our fans to step up their sweet treat game and tuck into this mighty feast with friends this Doughnut Day,” said Doughnut Time UK MD Tom Anderson.

The Mega Doughnuts need to be pre-ordered online and can be collected from Doughnut Time’s three stores in Shaftesbury Avenue, Notting Hill and Shoreditch, and two pop-ups in Victoria and Westfield Stratford.

Dozen and half-dozen boxes of doughnuts are also available for National Doughnut Day, featuring classic ones such as It’s Always A Gay Time, Pump up the Jam and Hans Rolo.

From Australia, Doughnut Time first came to UK shores in October and has since expanded with a number of shops across the capital, with plans to open a Doughnut Academy.
