Staff and clients of Foster Refrigeration have raised £12,028 for two charitable causes.

A team of 36 participants, including 30 walkers and six support volunteers, completed the Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for children’s charity Comrades of Children Overseas (COCO) and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Mark Greenhalgh, project sales engineer at Foster, said: “This has been a fantastic combined effort, which has brought together both Foster employees and a wonderful collection of some of our customers, to raise a very large sum for two outstanding charities. There were 36 very tired people at the end of it, but to say we all relished the challenge is an understatement and we’re all very proud of what we achieved.”

The challenge consisted of a 32-mile hike scaling Mount Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis – the highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland respectively – within a 24-hour period.

The team from Foster was joined by some of its customers, including Tricon Foodservice Consultants, Shine Food Machinery, Hallmark Kitchens and J D Wetherspoons.
