Peter’s spices up bakery market

Peter’s Foods has launched a new range of spicy pastries this month, supported by a national marketing campaign.

The Welsh-based pie manufacturer has created three new products, including the firecracker cheese slice with British cheese and jalapeño chilli, cheese and bacon slice, and extra-large spicy pork roll, which have launched this month. The range is being promoted through a multimedia marketing campaign in addition to sampling, print advertising and PR.

Mike Grimwood, managing director at Peter's, said: “We’re eager to offer today’s consumers exactly what they want. 2012 is shaping up to be a patriotic year with the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee – that means hearty British favourites with a twist.

“We have had a very successful couple of years in what remains an extremely tough marketplace. Our continued focus on the quality and consistency of our products, along with our ‘go getter’ attitude to innovation, has proven fruitful for our business.”
