BBC Radio 4 presenter Sheila Dillon has assessed the supply of eggs in the UK following the European Union’s decision to ban battery cages.

The programme, A Scramble for Eggs?, aired on Sunday (29 April) and reviewed the move that has cost UK egg farmers £400m to convert cages to more enriched and welfare-friendly types, which became compulsory in the EU on 1 January 2012.
