Huddersfield Bakery Parfitt’s has gone into liquidation, resulting in 63 job losses.

The eight-shop bakery and confectioners, which was established in the 1970s, saw all its stores close as of yesterday (11 February), it has been reported.

DL Partnership in Huddersfield will be handling the liquidation.

According to The Hudderfield Daily Examiner, Tony Denham of DL Partnership said that staff had been aware that customers were not coming in as much, and that those who were doing so were spending less.

He was quoted as saying: “The company is insolvent which is why we have had to take this course of action. There will be a creditors’ meeting on 25 February, probably at our office. The full scale of the company’s debts will be revealed in due course.”
