The Sandwich Designer of the Year final takes place on Thursday, May 16 at the Lancaster Hotel in London.
The finalists, who are travelling from all across the UK, have won through a series of regional heats to gain a coveted place in the final and will be put through their paces as they bid to re-create the sandwiches that caught the judges’ eye during the qualifying rounds.
The annual event, which has become one of the highlights of the British Sandwich Week calendar, will see some of the brightest stars of the sandwich industry gather to showcase their talent.
Jim Winship, British Sandwich Association director, said: “The quality of the competition has never been so high, Every year we are blown away by the standard of the entries and this year is no exception, the regional heats have set the bar very high and I know it is going to be incredibly hard to pick an overall winner from such a strong field.
"The finalists range from owner/managers of local cafes and sandwich bars to development chef’s from some of the UK’s leading food manufacturers so we really have representatives from all aspects of our industry."
