Greggs has increased production of its Greggsnut by 400% due to “overwhelming public demand”.

Having sold out within minutes of the product reaching shelves last month, Greggs has multiplied product numbers of the Greggsnut by 400% to satisfy "overwhelming public demand".

A spokesperson for Greggs said: “The response from our customers in September was nothing short of astounding. Since then we’ve had a huge level of interest on Facebook and Twitter from customers asking how they can get their hands on the Greggsnut.

“After time spent in our product development kitchens and local bakeries, we have found a way to increase production numbers of the Greggsnut. We are really proud of our delicious new treat and want to give more customers the chance to try it.”

At present there are no plans to introduce the Greggsnut nationally, but the spokesperson added that the brand is “very excited” to bring the Greggsnut back into some of its London shops.

Costing £1.25 and available in summer berry and crème and caramel and pecan, the Greggsnut will be on sale at selected shops in London this week.
