Hummingbird Bakery to open sixth outlet

Cupcake emporium The Hummingbird Bakery is to open its sixth branch in Richmond next month - its first outside central London.

Marking the bakery’s 10th anniversary, the new outlet, located on The Quadrant, is due to open in the week commencing 3 February 2014.

As with all of its other branches, the products it sells will be baked and decorated by hand on-site.

Plans are also in place to introduce a delivery service from the Richmond branch from April 2014, which the firm said would dramatically extend its existing delivery service to areas south-west of central London within the M25.

The shop is currently undergoing an extensive fit-out and will feature large counters for product display as well as seating.

Tarek Malouf, founder of The Hummingbird Bakery, said: “Extending our presence beyond central London has long been a part of our vision and it seems fitting that we will be achieving this important milestone at the beginning of our 10th anniversary year.”
