Registration is now open for this year’s National Doughnut Week.

Running from 10-17 May, the week aims to celebrate doughnuts made by UK craft bakers and coffee shops, and raise money for The Children’s Trust.

Backed by bakery ingredients supplier CSM, Helen Sinclair, its marketing manager, said the business was thrilled to be supporting the week for another year.

Sinclair said: “It’s a fantastic way to promote the talent of bakers, help increase businesses sales - all while raising funds for a fantastic cause, The Children’s Trust charity.”

Costing £5 per shop to participate, bakers can register online at the National Doughnut Week website. Participants are then sent a coordinated point-of-sale kit funded by CSM.

CSM is offering each sign-up £10 off Craigmillar doughnut concentrate or Kielder Doughnut Concentrate, or £5 off selected Readi-Bake doughnut products.

Phil Tufnell, vice-president of The Children’s Trust, said: “I urge craft bakers and coffee shops across the UK to take part this year and help raise money for The Children’s Trust, a special charity that is celebrating its 30th anniversary. I hope, too, that the general public will get behind this enjoyable fundraising week, and treat their family, friends and work colleagues to a doughnut treat.”
