Celebrity baker Paul Hollywood’s artisan bread company has gone into liquidation.

The celebrity, who presented BBC programme The Great British Bake Off, made the decision to close the Kent-based Paul Hollywood Artisan Bread Company after accruing debts of just under £60,000 of which £28,616 is owed to himself, it has been reported. The company was started in 2007.

In 2003, his company Hollywood Bread was also liquidated with debts of £262,000 by the time it was dissolved in December 2005. Hollywood’s other firm, Paul Hollywood Limited, is unaffected by the closure of his bread business and continues to do well.

Kingston Smith & Partners has been appointed liquidator for the bread company. It declined to comment.
