New York Bakery Co. has launched a limited-edition seeded bagel to its premium bagel range.

The UK’s leading bagel producer extended the range to capitalise on customer demand for healthy snacks.

The company has delivered a growth of £21m over the past two years, according to market insight company Nielsen.

The company claims the new seeded bagels are high in fibre and provide a source of slow-release energy. They contain four varieties of seed: linseeds, sunflower seeds, millet seeds and poppy seeds.

Pauline Clement, brand manager of Maple Leaf Bakery UK, which owns the New York Bakery Co, said: “We are excited to announce the latest addition to our premium bagel range, and extend our range of sweet and savoury bagel flavours. Based on the success of New York Bakery Co’s other seeded bagel variants, we are confident the new limited-edition seeded bagels will appeal to the increasing number of consumers looking for healthy grains – and give people an authentic taste of New York.”

The bagels will be sold from £1.60 for a pack of four, and are available in Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
