The employment of the managing director of Frank Roberts & Sons Bakery ended following a “mutual agreement”.

Michael Braddock’s departure from the north west bread company was announced in a recent report on Companies House.

Braddock had worked as managing director at the plant bakery since 2008, having formerly held the finance director role, but mystery surrounds his departure from the fast-growing firm which has been making in-roads into growing its geographic coverage.

Robert Higginson, the newly installed chairman of Roberts bakery, will take over the role in addition to his duties as chairman pending a permanent appointment.

Higginson said: "Mike had led the Northwich based bakery through a period of sustained growth in the business.

“The Roberts family expressed their gratitude to Mike for his hard work and commitment and wished him every success in his future career.”

As managing director, Braddock led the company in several key expansion moves; including the purchase of Aldreds the Bakers and bakery chain, P & A Davies.
