The company has agreed the seven-year contract with Stansted Airport, of which the bakery concept to be named James Martin Kitchen, is part of.

A spokesperson for SSP said: “James Martin Kitchen is a premium bakery that will offer an exciting combination of fresh farm ingredients and the highest quality baking, and is ideal for passengers who want to eat in or to grab and go.

“The James Martin Kitchen will be making its debut at Stansted.”

In its most recent interim statement, SSP said that total group sales were up by 3.5%, with like-for-like sales up 3.3%.

During the period from 1 April to 30 June, the group also opened its first outlets in Qatar as part of a contract to operate 11 food and beverage outlets at the new Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Kate Swann, CEO said: "I am pleased to announce our first IMS as a listed company. During the period we saw a strong performance for the group, particularly in the UK, North America and Asia-Pacific. We continue to be confident in the outlook for the business."

James Martin, who will be involved in the set-up of the new bakery, first appeared on Ready Steady Cook in 1996, and has since featured as a celebrity chef.

SSP currently operates brands such as Upper Crust, Delice de France and Millie’s Cookies.

The company expects to issue its preliminary results for the year-ending 30 September 2014 on Thursday 27 November 2014.
