A frozen bakery company has signed a five-year contract with food logistics specialist ACS&T to distribute its products.

The company, Easibake Foods, signed with the logistics firm to manage outbound deliveries from the bakery’s Welsh plant in Pontypool to key customers, delivering around 30 loads a week of speciality breads and baked goods.

Easibake Foods is a subsidiary of Evron Foods Group. The company’s operations director Dermot Dornan said: “Our brief to ACS&T was simple: to provide an exceptionally efficient and complete operational solution for all Easibake’s customers serviced out of Pontypool.

“What impressed us was ACS&T’s account management methodology, which set out a clearly structured, performance-led project strategy to take the opportunity from the start-up phase to steady state.

“They also showed a clear understanding of how they would deliver our exacting order requirements, and they stepped in to help up us with a very quick start-up. We look forward to a successful long-term relationship.”

ACS&T was one of the first companies to achieve British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification (storage and distribution) for all its sites, which are in Grimsby, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Scarborough.
