Premium pie company, Tom’s Pies, has launched five products at ocado.com- its first listing at a major retailer.

The brand, which has recently redesigned its packaging, will now be available from the online multiple, in line with British Pie Week which kicks off today (Monday 2 March).

Tom Cull, founder and director of Tom’s Pies, said: “This is an exciting step for us - working exclusively with Ocado means that fans of Tom’s Pies all over the country can get their favourites delivered as part of their regular shopping, which will be so convenient for them.

“We’re really proud of our new packaging and hope customers old and new will love the design as much as we do."

The company currently supplies a number of delis and cafes, as well as food halls in Harrods, Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason.

When asked what makes the pie-firm different to other premium pie brands, Tom Little, sales and marketing director, said: “I think a lot of it is down to the fact we are a chef-led business- all our products are made in small batches by hand. There’s a lot of care and time which goes into all of our recipes.”

Clare Banner, buying manager at Ocado, said: “Adding Tom’s Pies to our range at Ocado is really exciting. Ocado customers are very discerning when it comes to quality, so I know they’ll love getting a little taste of Devon delivered right to their kitchen table as part of their weekly shop.”

The flavours launched at Ocado are steak and ale, chicken ham hock and leak, chicken and wild mushroom, lamb and chickpea with chorizo, and mushroom and spinach with white truffle oil.

To celebrate British Pie Week, the company will also be running pie tastings throughout the South West, including a tasting at Fortnum & Mason, London.  It also produces a range of cakes and tarts.

Cull is also founder of catering company, Dartmoor Kitchen- which runs alongside the pie business.
