Specialist patisserie Maître Choux has opened today in South Kensington, London.

It is the brainchild of top pastry chef Joakim Prat and ‘brings a contemporary twist to a classic French speciality’. The core range will be joined by changing specials that showcase different flavours and visuals.

It will offer a range of éclairs, choux and chouquettes, which are empty choux pastry casings traditionally eaten in France for a snack or breakfast.

While primarily a patisserie, Maître Choux will also offer seating for a few customers where they can eat and drink quality teas, coffees or hot chocolate.

Prat has previously held the position of Joël Robuchon’s head pastry chef at L’Atelier, before moving on to Mayfair’s The Greenhouse. He held the same position at Can Fabes in Barcelona, meaning that Maître Choux will be the only pastry shop in the UK with a three-Michelin star chef at the helm, it claimed.

The patisserie will open from 7.30am to 7pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 7pm on Saturday.
