Crewe based Wrights Food Group has rolled out a ‘kick-ass’ Street Pie to target the grab-and-go sector.

The Street Pie aims to embrace the street food revolution with its urban-style packaging, intense flavours and easy-to-eat handheld status.

It is available in three flavours: piri piri chicken, cajun BBQ pork and beef adobo.

The street pie is packaged in specially-designed casing to ensure that when re-heated in a microwave the pastry remains light and crispy.

Sue Gwilliam, Wrights’ head of new product development, said: “We are constantly seeking new and innovative ways to develop our range. Our Street Pie is designed to satisfy the public’s increasing appetite for inventive food.

“Each Street Pie is filled with aromatic spices, tender meats, vibrant colours and traditional ingredients that South American and Mexican street food bring, all conveniently wrapped for customers to enjoy on the go.
“We see the Street Pie as an extension to the street food revolution, bringing a whole new level of enjoyment to the customer.”

Currently sold to food service outlets and sporting arenas throughout England and Wales, Wrights customers also include independent convenience stores, quick service restaurants, coffee shops and independent bakery shops supplied with frozen unbaked, part baked and finished products through a network of national wholesale distributors.
