British Baker visited the Farm Shop & Deli show in the NEC and asked the question: why supply a farm shop or deli?

The show saw 400 speciality food suppliers promote their products to potential stockists and, among them, were a hoard of bakers keen to extend their reach.

Lee Smith was on the Farm Shop & Deli Live stage, helping businesses grow their bakery ranges within farm shops and delis. He said: “Having a bakery offering in a deli or farm shop is a good way to get people through the door.”

Also on the stage was leading food futurologist Dr Morgaine Gaye, who spoke about global trends and where the future of food will take us.

She will also be the keynote speaker at the New Frontiers in Food and Drink conference, which will take place in June.

Watch the bakery highlights below and see why bakers find farm shops and delis to be an ideal market for their products.
