AMF Bakery Systems has appointed Scott Bieker as vice-president of US/Canada sales.

Bieker will lead the US/Canada sales team for AMF as it focuses on marketing its automated bakery equipment to commercial bakers. As part of his role he will also support AMF customer start-ups worldwide.

Bieker was formerly sales director of Tromp Group Americas. Both AMF and Tromp are owned by Markel Food Group. He has 26 years of experience in the baking industry from Tromp Group, Danisco, AIB, Nonni’s and Earthgrains.

Bieker is the second high-profile appointment at the automated equipment company. In August it promoted Jason Ward to executive vice-president of AMF.

Ward said: “As I recently moved to my new role in AMF, we needed a strong leader for our North American sales team, which is our largest and most tenured.

“Over the last year, Scott worked closely with the AMF team in his role as sales director for Tromp Group Americas. With the latest acquisition of Tromp Group USA by Tromp Group, we are now able to leverage Scott’s leadership at AMF while continuing to give Tromp Group customers the support they need in this region.”

Bieker said: “Most of the projects I worked on in my Tromp Group role were helping AMF customers to create more specialised products on their existing bread or bun lines.

“As a baker, this new role will allow me to guide the AMF team towards a broader understanding of these speciality baking processes, while continuing to support the traditional AMF market in bread and buns.”
